Nazi Tactics Used By Russia Against Jehovah's Witnesses in Crimean Court
The Dzhankoysky District Court of the Republic of Crime convicted Jehovah's Witnesses member Sergey Filatoz on March 5, 2020, for practicing his faith, which includes gathering peacefully to worship.
The Dzhankoysky District Court of the Republic of Crimea is controlled by the Russian Federation and is their most recent attempt to silence the religious minority group under the pretenses of "extremist activities."
"It's definitely reminiscent of Nazi tactics used against Jehovah's Witnesses during the WWII era," states Court Magazine Chief Investigative Reporter Joseph Bonner. He continues, "what makes this most deplorable is that these attacks against Jehovah's Witnesses by the Russian Federation are being instigated by the Russian Orthodox Church that claims faith in the bible and God."
According to confirmed reports, Sergey Filatov will appeal the conviction.
