Couple murdered outside their car in middle of Chicago street

A man was shot dead and his girlfriend critically wounded after being ambushed in Chicago this weekend.

Gyovanny Arzuaga and Yasmin Perez were driving through the Humboldt Park neighborhood when a group of men attacked their car, according to local outlets, including Fox 32.

Video footage on social-media captured the assault that left Arzuaga, 24, dead and Perez,25, in critical condition according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

A police spokeswoman told The Sun-Times that the shooting was preceded by a car crash, but no further information was available as to a possible motive.

No suspects have been identified and we are urging the community to do the right thing and turn this guy in. Someone knows him.

“My heart is destroyed,” Arzuaga’s brother told Fox 32. “That was my best friend, my brother.”

Arzuaga and Perez were among at least 21 people shot in Chicago overnight Saturday into Sunday, according to local outlet WGN.
