In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare innovation, few leaders bring the depth of personal experience and professional drive that Amdalat Jinadu does. As the CEO and Co-Founder of La Latch Limited and Natalli, she has transformed adversity into advocacy, spearheading groundbreaking solutions to address systemic disparities in perinatal care. Jinadu's journey—from overcoming a traumatic post-labor spinal cord injury to launching femtech innovations—offers a powerful narrative of resilience, determination, and transformative leadership in the healthcare sector.

Can you share a defining moment or accomplishment that significantly influenced your professional growth?

A defining moment in my professional journey was the stark realization, following my injury, that the healthcare system was not equipped to support women like me. This painful experience catalyzed the creation of La Latch Club, a femtech startup dedicated to addressing systemic disparities in perinatal care through patented deep‑tech solutions. Securing pre‑seed investment and winning multiple awards affirmed that our innovative approach resonated with both the market and the community, significantly shaping my professional growth and mission.

What are the core values or principles that guide you in your work and decision-making?

The core values that guide me include resilience, empathy, inclusivity, innovation, and determination. I firmly believe that our lived experiences—especially those marked by adversity—can drive transformative change when met with empathy and strategic innovation. These principles not only underpin every decision I make but also fuel my advocacy for equitable healthcare and social justice for Black and BAME women.

Legend Notes: BAME stands for Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic.

How do you approach challenges or setbacks in your profession, and what advice would you give to others facing similar obstacles?

I approach challenges by viewing setbacks as opportunities for learning and growth. Personal hardships have taught me that resilience is built through adaptation, self-reflection, and seeking support from mentors and peers. My advice to others facing similar obstacles is to harness their pain as a source of strength, remain open to learning from every setback, and never lose sight of the vision for a more compassionate and inclusive future.

What innovative or unique strategies have you implemented to excel in your role or industry?

We have implemented unique strategies that blend cutting‑edge research, deep‑tech innovation, and empathetic design to revolutionize early health and perinatal care, leveraging patient experience, advanced technology and interdisciplinary collaborations.

What do you hope your legacy or impact will be, and how do you strive to achieve it through your work?

I hope my legacy will be defined by my role in transforming an inadequate and often dehumanizing healthcare system into one that is empathetic, inclusive, and responsive to the unique needs of women, minorities, vulnerable families, and shattering barriers.

Amdalat Jinadu’s journey exemplifies how personal struggle can serve as a catalyst for systemic change. Her work at La Latch Limited and Natalli continues to set new standards for perinatal care, combining technology and empathy to create a healthcare system that serves everyone—especially those too often left behind. By championing inclusive healthcare reforms, she is not only redefining patient-centered care but also ensuring that the voices of marginalized communities are heard, valued, and uplifted.
