Geoffrey Owens responds to media’s criticism about day job

After all the bashing as well as all the support by the media for having a day job at Trader Joe’s, actor Geoffrey Owens told Good Morning America, “I was really devastated, but it lasted…the period of devastation was so short.” His reasons for not advertising his job at the grocery store, was because he “didn’t want the entertainment community to decide, ‘Well, he’s doing that. He’s not pursuing acting anymore.’” In other words, he wanted to keep his options open when it came to future acting roles/jobs. Geoffrey concluded: “No one should feel sorry for me, either from a positive or negative perspective. I’ve had a great life. I’ve had a great career. I’m doing fine.”
